Learn about how Eaton technologies have shaped Singapore’s power and meet the Singapore team

What made you decide to join Eaton?

The environment at Eaton also requires a strong technical background while providing the opportunity to grow in marketing skills. As my role requires an understanding of our clients’ needs, I have been able to build the relationships between Eaton and our clients and partners, a role that I find fulfilling.

What do you find most exciting about your job?

My passion lies in providing solutions for our customers. Although we offer our expertise in the right tools to use, it is not just a transaction. We help our customers to see how Eaton products can add value to their business, so that they can understand the value and expertise we provide. I love that we’re not just about doing business but as a company, but are intentional in forming deep and lasting connections with our customers.

How has Eaton influenced the transformation of the power management landscape in Singapore?

Over the years, there has been a growing trend towards managing power while keeping to strict safety standards. Eaton is well-positioned in the current landscape with the adoption of smarter technologies to stay ahead of the curve. Moreover, be it through its research and development or acquisitions, Eaton has been constantly innovating solutions and has established a strong brand voice in today’s landscape.

What was the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

In 2013, Eaton introduced the panel builder program as one of our marketing strategies in South East Asia. This implementation which began in Indonesia resulted in wider adoption of our lower and medium-voltage switchgear products amongst power plants there. It is critical that safer, reliable and better quality electrical equipment is readily available to fuel the soaring demand for energy in the region.

I was fortunate to be part of the team then and I felt a deep sense of accomplishment to be able to contribute to the growth we witnessed with this project.

What are some new trends or technologies that you are excited to see in the future?

I’m looking forward to the application of many emerging technologies to power management as we embrace digitalisation. Tools such as automation and intelligent systems are being integrated at a faster pace than ever, and can continue to improve on safety, reliability and efficiency of critical facilities. With these improvements, I’m confident that we can improve the quality of life and the environment for many.
