Learn about how Eaton technologies have shaped Singapore’s power and meet the Singapore team

What made you decide to join Eaton?

Eaton has held on to its high ethical standards for over a hundred years since its founding and I’m proud to work with such a reputable company. I also appreciate the emphasis that Eaton places on inclusion, diversity and gender equality. Even in a traditionally male-dominated field, ample respect is given to female employees, along with the support and opportunities needed for women to succeed in this company. There is a culture that celebrates allyship and embraces different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds.

What do you love most about your job?

As a listed company in the USA, there are tremendous expectations when it comes to shareholder transparency and accountability. Working to achieve these high standards that Eaton is committed to has been a challenge that I have come to relish as part of my job. I am also appreciative to the senior leaders in the finance function for guidance in these challenging times. They have been forward-looking throughout the global pandemic and were able to minimise the overall impact on the company by taking action early and focusing on the key financials.

How has the role of the finance team evolved at Eaton since you first joined?

Finance has traditionally been a back-office function with a focus on numbers and regulations. However, over time, I have been able to move the team towards a more strategic function. By working closely with the management in the East Asia region, we are delivering greater value to the company by interpreting data to drive decision making and goal setting. This has helped us to strengthen Eaton’s fiscal health, properly manage our capital and support our strategic objectives.

What has been Eaton’s greatest achievement this past 25 years?

Eaton’s steadfast growth in Singapore and the region this past 25 years has been a testament to the confidence our customers, partners and employees have placed in the company. From a team of handful staff to over 200 today, Eaton has grown from strength to strength and I am proud to be part of this journey.
